looks like the service is tied to pg. Probably could switch to sqlalchemy or another package to support a good list of RDBMS.

My initial aim was to use aurora serverless which doesn't yet have pg compatibility yet.

The long term plan was to move towards a plugin model where you could drop in any db implementation you want, but for now we decided to keep the scope limited

FWIW Aurora Serverless for Postgres is now generally available I think.
