Production Meter/Inverter configuration (SMA Modbus, Fronius Solar API)

Arska can read solar power production from selected SMA and Fronius inverters

SMA Inverter with Modbus TCP interface

To read production data from an SMA inverter and Arska should be connected (WLAN recommended or Wifi). Arska reads production data with Modbus TCP from Ethernet or Wifi of the inverter:

On the SMA inverter enable Modbus TCP

External Communications / Ethernet / Modbus:

  • Unit Id: 3 (default 3)
  • P-settings at input 2: On

External Communications / Ethernet / TCP server

  • Activated: Yes
  • Port: (default 502)

Arska configuration

  • Energy Meter: SMA Modbus TCP
  • Host: IP address of the inverter (wifi/WLAN), just numbers and dots
  • Port: 502 (should match inverter settings)
  • Unit Id: 3 (should match inverter settings)
  • Baseload (W): Estimated base consumption. For example, if baseload is 1000W and production is 3000W, "extra production" available is 2000W

Tested with STP8.0-3AV-40 (Sunny Tripower 8.0).

Fronius Solar API

Solar power production values energy (cumulated) and current power can be read from a Fronius inverter (Solar API). To read production data from Fronius Solar API inverter and Arska should be connected (WLAN/Wifi). Arska reads production data with an HTTP/JSON queries

Arska configuration

  • Energy Meter: Fronius Solar API
  • Host: IP address of the inverter (wifi/WLAN), just numbers and dots
  • Port: 80 (should match inverter settings)
  • Baseload (W): Estimated base consumption. For example, if baseload is 1000 W and production is 3000 W, "excess production" available is 2000 W

Tested with FRONIUS Eco 27.0-3-S.
