Story and overview
Journey to the Center of Hawkthorne is a 2d platformer/action-adventure game based on Community's Digital Estate Planning episode. Pick one of the Greendale Seven, find the white crystal, and defeat the evil Cornelius to save Pierce's inheritance.
Journey to the Center of Hawkthorne is a 2d platformer/action-adventure game. Think of it as a cross between Mario and Zelda.
Journey to the Center of Hawkthorne runs on:
- Windows XP/Vista/7
- OS X >= 10.5
- Linux
The following plot descriptions use Troy as the main character. This choice is up to the player, and we just use Troy as an example.
Troy warps into the Greendale study room. He leaves the studyroom and finds himself in a hallway. To his right are hippies, waiting to attack. They claim to be peaceful, but attack as Troy gets closer. Hippies also fall from the ceiling. Troy kills all the hippies on his way to the end of the hallway and opens the exit.
the player will see a locked door to his left that reads "Greendale Campus".
In the forest, Troy attempts to cross a bridge. The floating head of Cornelius Hawthorne appears, and tells Troy that the first person to reach the Throne of Castle Hawkthrone win's Pierce's inheritance.
Gilbert appears, and attacks Troy. Gilbert, having seen the game developed over the years, knows all the tricks. He easily kills Troy, who respawns at the beginning of the forest.
Troy runs through the forest, finding a note left by Gilbert. It's not a nice note. After reading it, the Troy finishes exploring the forest, avoiding jumping fish and various woodland creatures.
Troy arrives in town and meets a milk maid named Hilda. Hilda has much information for Troy, including the location of the white crystal. After Troy talks to Hilda, he explores the town. Troy ends up creating a fire potion that accidentally burns down the blacksmith's house.
After Troy escapes the fire, Gilbert is waiting. As Troy is about to die, the fire potion falls out of his inventory. Gilbert, thinking it's a super strength potion, drinking it and melts. In the rubble of the blacksmith's house, Troy finds a sword. Before leaving, Troy says goodbye to Abed, who stays behind to help Hilda rebuild her life.
Troy finds himself in the Valley of Laziness. Not sure what he does here yet.
Troy finds himself on Gay Island. Not sure what he does here yet.
After exiting the Freeride Ferry, Troy enters the Black Caverns. Here Troy must battle lava and Jive Turkeys before facing the Boss Turkey. Troy defeats the Boss Turkey, afro and all, and finally obtains the White Crystal. Troy exits the caves and makes his way to Castle Hawkthorne.
As he is crossing a bridge, he runs into Gilbert. Powered up by cheats, Gilbert kills the entire party and steals the crystal. Troy respawns back in the studyroom. As he runs through the forest to get back to the Castle, the forest looks different. The trees have all been cut down.
When Troy gets to the Town, it looks completely different. Abed has married Hilda and rebuilt the entire town. The blacksmith shop is back open, and Troy can buy new weapons if he has the cash. Abed shows Troy his baby army in his baby caves, and a plan is hatched to attack Cornelius.
Gilbert, having reached the throne room, attempts to take the throne. However, Cornelius makes him sign a document claiming that Gilbert isn't his son. Gilbert refuses, and Cornelius attacks. The Greendale seven arrive just in time to save Gilbert, but Cornelius transforms into huge robot. The seven attack the robot, eventually winning.
Gilbert is given the throne, and fireworks and happiness are had by all.
Post credits, Pierce and his dad play catch together. After Pierce get's a certain number of points, he smiles

Or is it? Now that Cornelius is defeated, the Greendale campus has been unlocked for exploration.
