LUKS in stage 1 fails silently when keyFile is wrong

The LUKS phase of stage 1 fails silently if boot.initrd.luks.devices.?device.keyFile is set to a nonexistent path. I was following https://elvishjerricco.github.io/2018/12/06/encrypted-boot-on-zfs-with-nixos.html and got it to work in the end. I did not look into it further.
