Already have this half-way done (Linux). Will push to a dev branch soon and work on Windows-related build issues.

Updated README to reflect that The build now requires a kludgy
combination of CMake and toolchain.mk.

This (Isssue #174) is still on the radar to clean up.

This will likely slip past the 2014.09 schedule, unfortunately. If someone wants to pick up this to make building FW in Windows less ridiculous, let me know and I can share what I have as far as the CMake-based firmware configuration and build in Linux.
