El caso es que le di bastantes vueltas a ese término. No sé... ubicación me sonaba más como si quisieras poner las coordenadas GPS o la dirección exacta. La RAE lo define como Lugar en que está ubicado algo, mientras que localidad es Lugar o pueblo, que me parece algo más acertado, porque abarca todos los usos de este campo sin entrar en más detalles. Si alguien te pregunta: "¿En qué ubicación está tu casa?" esperaría una dirección o coordenadas completas, mientras que si te dijera "¿En qué localidad está?" tan solo te pregunta el pueblo o lugar.
