For the concept "Multiple birth" (4163851), can we add some descendant concepts that specify the birth status? Many of the ICD10CM codes mapped to it and its current descendants are for multiple births, but with varying outcomes (all liveborn, some liveborn, some stillborn, etc).

Being able to find multiple live births would then be just picking a new descendant like "Multiple live births".

Hello,

We generally avoid creating synthetic concepts inside OMOP, instead relying on SNOMED to accommodate use-cases. They have a separate content request system here.

If your usecase is urgent, you may instead locally create standard concepts in your OMOP CDM instance and use them as mapping targets fo ICD10CM codes. There are also precedent cases of manually adding urgently needed standard concepts (a lot of concepts were added to include COVID related diagnoses before SNOMED had them), so you could also post concept suggestion to https://forums.ohdsi.org

Hi @alondhe , are you okay with that approach? Can we close this request for now and would you try your luck with SNOMED? Cheers - Mik

Hi @mik-ohdsi -- no, unfortunately, this still is an issue I think we should address. I'll raise in Forums.
