I'm not sure about the "Midi Coaster" translation. Was it present in the original game?

No, it wasn't. It's basically what the 'Steel Mini Roller Coaster' in RCT1 was (higher maximum height, steep inclines, etc.), but since 'Mini Roller Coaster' in RCT2 is another roller coaster type that has narrower track, I opted to call it 'Midi Coaster'.
