This resolves the primary issue in #74. There is a related issue of the bottom (grey) background panes not rendering correctly, which breaks the design of the bottom of the white "planes" in Safari. I will work on fixing that, but this first commit should probably be deployed as a hotfix to the more glaring platform section of the landing page. Should I create a separate issue (and PR) for the related fixes to come, or add on to this PR?
