When using Outernet L-band software under VirtualBox with USB pass-through, FRAME LOCK is never obtained.

I was having the same issue. Was getting code lock and then dropping back to signal detected. Setup was Mac OSX 10.11.6, VirtualBox + Extensions 5.1.6, Vagrant 1.8.5.

I switched to VMWare Fusion and created a new VM using the Ubuntu 14.04 ISO. I then installed the demodulator and decoder according to http://outernet-l-band-on-linux.readthedocs.io/en/latest/install.html I had no issues connecting with this setup, and downloaded 7.6MB off the satellite overnight.

Its possible that VirtualBox is causing some sort of timing issue with is preventing the demodulator from locking. I've seen similar issues with VoIP systems in the past when running in virtual machines. Might be something to investigate.
