The FM DX scanner can help you scan for DX on empty frequencies. You can either perform a bandscan or a preset scan. This function is introduced in firmware version v2.10.

In the main menu, you'll find "FM DX Options."

Explanation of all the settings:

Start DX scanning

This option starts the scan. You can also start the scan from normal radio mode by toggling the Mode button until you see "MEM" and pressing the band button. During the scan, "MEM" will start to flash.

Begin scanning memory channels

Choose the first memory channel from the range of memory channels you want to use with the scanner. Only FM and OIRT memory channels will be used.

Stop scanning memory channels

Choose the last memory channel from the range of memory channels you want to use with the scanner. Only FM and OIRT memory channels will be used.

Wait time

Set the time to wait before skipping to the next frequency.

Memory channels

  • Only: Only search on memory channels within the specified range.
  • Exclude: Perform a bandscan but exclude the frequencies on the memory channels within the specified range. Note that the bandscan will be done on the band of the first set memory channel. So if the first memory channel in the range is OIRT, the bandscan will be done on OIRT.

Auto cancel scan

  • Off: Never stop the scan automatically.
  • Correct PI: Cancel when a correct RDS PI code is detected.
  • Signal: Cancel when a signal is received. You can set the threshold in the menu "FM Settings -> Scan sensitivity."

Mute audio while scanning

As the name implies, the audio is muted during the scan.
