Note1: Houseparty is a Chrome Web app Progressive Web App, PWAs, but the icon is trash compared to my Papirusfied icons. chrome-acpcknggdnfoghhojnkpldmfnnjiobdp-Default is the name my desktop is giving it but i would most definally manually replace it if one was made

  • App Name: Houseparty
  • Icon Name: Read Note1
  • Description: Houseparty is a social networking service that enables group video chatting through mobile and desktop apps. Users receive a notification when friends are online and available to group video chat.
  • Webpage (optional): https://app.houseparty.com/
  • Original Icon:

If you said it's part PWA. Where you download this application?

Apparently It's only Google Chrome compatable. I can't open it at all in Firefox.

How I understand some web-sites migrate from Chrome Apps to Progressive Web Apps.
I found little newest apps list:
https://pwa.rocks/

But not sure needed this on Papirus or not, because it's only link to web page.
It's not standalone application!

Yeah, but it looks like standalone apps because has a separate desktop-file.

@SmartFinn Yo try this on non-Chromed browsers? It's worked on Firefox?

@varlesh it should not be working on Firefox, it for chromium-based only. That means almost all browsers support it.

On Firefox >=73 available option Site Specific Browser, it's set "browser.ssb.enabled = true" on about:config. Restart the browser and there will be a new menu item under the three dot (...) menu at the right of the URL bar.

SSB option worked on Firefox, but useless:

  • desktop-file not created
  • icon not changed
  • StartupWMClass not changed

On September 9, 2021, Epic Games announced that they were planning to
shut down the Houseparty service in October of the same year. And for
now the service unavailable.

Removed symlinks for Brave and Chrome created for PWA.
Removed houseparty icon by renaming to kali-forensics-trans.
