Google currently decides to present "AI takeover" as a suggested article to me when searching "pause ai" and if you've never heard of the topic the content can probably look like a pretty wild claim to some people. There should probably be at least one link to a source somewhere at the beginning.

Hmm yeah I never wanted this article to be an entry point. Perhaps there's some way to control these items google shows.
Regarding the source: I'm not sure which statement actually requires a source. I try to lay out the whole argument without relying on any external data. I do admit I'm not feeling that happy about this article. I should probably rewrite most of it.
I've read that you have some amount of control over the links in the Google Search Console, they are called "sitelinks".
And I agree that the article mostly does a good job at laying out the argument, but the (correct) claim that this is actually something that scientists worry about could use a source.
