I followed the instructions for doing a full upgrade on one of my raspberry pi devices. I then downloaded the pi4j-example-minimal and it worked for great for my use - I just need to be able to set up listeners for 8 gpio pins and that worked. I am using a pi 4B. I have another pi 4B with a bunch of programs installed and would like to install the pi4j-v2 there as well and then use a new java spring boot app to communicate with the pi4j-v2. I've downloaded it and run the "mvn clean install" but cannot figure out how to use it. I can't figure out where it resides. On my first pi device I ran the pi4j utility and it works. But I can't find where it is in the second pi device. I'm probably not reading the correct documentation somewhere. Thanks in advance. I apologize if I looked over a simple explanation. |

I think I can answer this myself. I did some looking into what I had downloaded. I extracted the files from the pi4j-2.0-SNAPSHOT.zip into a new empty folder /opt/pi4j and then after changing pi4j to 755 mode I was able to execute the pi4j commands. Then I downloaded the pi4j-example-minimal and built that using the "mvn clean package" and it built ok. |
