We propose adding a new upper level term to organize the hierarchy of plant treatments and distinguish them from the growing conditions and study types:

plant treatment (new EO:0001001): A plant environment (EO:0007359) involving the application of an abiotic or biotic treatment. (needs work)

Comment: A plant treatment is the most specific plant environment, and may be a component of a plant growing condition (EO:0001002) or plant study type (EO:0007231)

revised definition:

plant treatment (EO:0001001):
A plant experimental condition (EO:0007359) or set of conditions describing the application of an abiotic (EO:0007191) or biotic plant treatment (EO:0007357) or the combinatorial application thereof.

Need to encompass the three new subclasses: seasonal environment (EO:0007027), unknown treatment (EO:0007403), and ecological environment (EO:0007064) which were formerly children of plant growth environment (EO:0001002; obsoleted).
