this has is_a paths to both PO:0009007-tissue and PO:0009002-plant cell

is this correct? The def of tissue says "group of cells", so no cell in isolation can be a tissue

This is a manifestation of the problem of classifying trichomes, that I described under "outgrowth or projection."

The primary name for PO:0004509 was changed to glandular trichome, with secretory trichome as a synonym. It is now a child of only trichome (PO:0000282), which can include both uni- and multi-cellular trichomes.

New definition: A  trichome that secretes or sequesters a portion of plant substance.

I am closing this item.
