Your Environment

  • Operating System and version: Mac OS Sierra 10.12 AMD Radeon R9 M370X 2048 Mo
    Intel Iris Pro 1536 Mo
  • Compiler: Apple LLVM 8.0
  • PCL Version: 1.8

Context

I'm interesting about the virtual scanner tool in oder to generate views from a specific point cloud. However I noticed that for my all 42 views generated, I have the same viewpoint. Only the number of points change.

Expected behavior

So it seems that the camera does not really rotate in multi-view mode and only scans from the same viewpoint all the time.

I used the code available on the PCL library in the tools folder. The code is virtual_scanner.cpp
I did not modify anything. I just built it and launched it on my data.
After checking the results, I have the viewpoint for my 42 views. Normally I should have had 42 different views from my object.

Do you have any clues about this behavior ?

Thank
