Why the formula for curvature was reverted to the wrong version?

And the fix commit fix: curvature issue is also reverted......

That is an excellent question. I'm currently abroad, but I'll try to figure out what happened there when I get back next week.

this weirdness get fixed and pushed out as 2.5.0
