CLI:
- First, make sure you have Node.js installed.
- Open your terminal and run
npm i -g downtube.
Tool:
- Download the latest release.
- Extract the downloaded files.
- Open the executable file
DownTube.exe.

downtube. - Paste the YouTube video or playlist link.
- Select the content type (Video or Audio).
- Wait for the download to complete.
- Navigate to the provided path to find your downloaded files.

DownTube was born out of the need to have offline access to my favorite YouTube songs while traveling, especially when the internet was unreliable. I used to manually download content from third-party websites, which was a hassle. To simplify the process, I created this tool. It's currently in beta, so you may encounter some bugs.
