You should be able to reproduce it by retracing my steps:

If I prefix the URL paths with /projects/pyramid/ it works as expected: http://docs.pylonsproject.org/projects/pyramid/en/1.4-branch/api/renderers.html

http://docs.pylonsproject.org/docs/* should return a 404 so that it does not get indexed by search engines. I suspect this is a configuration option in RTD, but I am not familiar with the doc build process between RTD and docs.pylonsproject.org.

Assigning myself to watch this issue, and pinging @mmerickel and @blaflamme because I think they can sort this issue.

@stevepiercy The issue is that the popup that allows you to switch between versions doesn't seem to be taking the sub-project into account.

@bertjwregeer correct. It might be a configuration or settings issue at RTD, but I do not have access to that. I think @mmerickel or @blaflamme do, or they would know who does.

If it's not a config issue, but perhaps a bug in RTD, then we can file an issue. But I'd prefer to eliminate config as a possibility first.

@mmerickel found the bug on RTD and submitted an issue readthedocs/readthedocs.org#1108 that should also resolve this issue when that one is fixed.

The issue on RTD was fixed, but it appears this is a separate bug on RTD.

If this is still an issue please respond, otherwise I'm closing this ticket.
