Requal is a qualitative data analysis tool designed with simplicity and reproducibility in mind. It's built upon the foundations of R and Shiny, harnessing the power of these technologies to provide a user-friendly interface for coding and analyzing textual data.

This software is a product of collaborative efforts between sociologists at Charles University and the Czech Academy of Sciences.

Our aim with this wiki is to provide a comprehensive guide on how to navigate and use Requal effectively. You will learn how to create and manage codes and categories, providing structure to your data analysis. We will also guide you on managing documents within the Requal environment. Requal operates in two modes: offline "local" mode and online "server" mode. The latter provides collaborative team environment. The wiki includes advanced instructions for system administrators on how to setup your own server installation of Requal and run it in server mode.

There are two ways to work with Requal - using desktop application or web application. For individual users we recommend installing the desktop application, for teams or classes the web (server) application is more suitable. The versions do not differ from each other except that only the web application contains modules to enhance the reproducibility of the coding. On the other hand, to use the web application you need a server on which to install Server setup

We wrote a report summarising and explaining the logic behind Requal here (in Czech only): Strategie.pdf
