You must first create a crowdin translation project before submitting the open source projects request form:
https://crowdin.com/createproject

Weblate might have more control over translations, but crowdin makes it easy to navigate and easy to use compared to weblate's ui...also Crowdin gives Open Source projects free of charge for thr premium plans @PatrykMis

Weblate is also more accessible for people using screen readers. Also worth looking on which permissions both require to work properly, less is more secure.

But if translations submitted by pull request will be accepted in parallel it should not be a huge problem.
