It's not entirely clear to me how the physical DASHER-mode terminals actually handled TABs from the host.
It might well be that they never reached the terminal but were intercepted by the IOP, IOC or IAC (etc.) and translated into the requisite number of SPaCe characters. Looking at some software, the expected result seems to be what was standard for the era: move on to the next column that is a multiple of 8.
Implementing this behaviour in DasherG should have no ill effects whether the emulator is connected to physical or virtual hardware.
DasherG is displaying an 'unprintable' symbol when it receives a TAB.
TAB handling is missing from the D100/D200 manual...
