Playing perfectly but only in 720P. Any settings to make it play in 1080P?

Need way more information. What is playing in 720p? Series should play 1080p just fine, movies don't even play in 720p due to HDCP. What addon? What Kodi version?

First nothing was playing, Then somehow when i enabled debugging it started playing TV shows in 720P. But when i tried to make it to play it in 1080P in input stream adaptive settings it doesn't play at all. It just keep showing as working and it does not play video afterwards. So I changed back to the previous setting where 720p was playing. But now even the 720P is also not playing. So i tried turning on debug settings and restarted kodi. But still the same. Not even 720P version is playing

Looks like the same is happening for other users as well

Movies won't play HD or higher, that's well known. TV series should work 1080p, unless amazon changed something in their back end for some shows. Without proper explanation or a log file I really can't help you.

Clears voice then goes for a classic IT Crowd line: "have you tried turning it off and on again?"

Couple things: make sure InputStream.Adaptive stream selection is set to auto, and also that Override HDCP is disabled, then try to play again something. If it's a RPi or something, seriously try to restart it, some distro at times go nuts and as stupid as it may sound it often times actually work.

Which Kodi version? Also, Win7 or Win10?

Edit: here you can find information on how to enable debug logging and also where to find the logs. Then you can just drag & drop the log in a reply to this issue.

To enable 1080p, just go to Inputstream add on setting, enable HDCP override. Now all movie can play at 1080p.

This is absolutely false. 720p and 1080p for movies are locked by HDCP, ignoring the status won't fix the fact that videos won't play. Only TV series will work at 1080p, unless you're on some sort of android device with hardware security in place.

Considering this might just be a duplicate of #51 I'll just close this. Feel free to reopen should you need to.

There was a bug in inputstream.adaptive where if you selected 720p, you would get a lower quality stream. And if you selected 1080p you would get the 720p stream. It is fixed in xbmc/inputstream.adaptive#259

That's a very niche problem with specific settings, I don't think this was the case as by default everything is set to maximum.
