Will Semantic move away from jQuery? I know it is useful but I think it is better if Semantic had no dependencies and JavaScript has come a long ways, making it so jQuery is not needed for developing JS quickly.

Or even to have Semantic not require jQuery and have a optional jQuery integration JS script to allow people to use jQuery with Semantic if they wish.

@jlukic disappeared without adding any maintainers, there is an active community fork over at fomantic/Fomantic-UI. With v3 they plan to remove the jquery dependency: fomantic/Fomantic-UI#374 (comment)

Is Sematic-UI dead? And is Formatic-UI is the new Sematic-UI?

@trymeouteh I wouldn't feel comfortable answering your first question, anything could happen, but for your second question I would say yes. Fomantic would like to merge back into Semantic if Jack ever returns, but they've done so much extra work that it should stand out as more than just an updated fork.
