Unable to Control Bulk Email Default Setting from Grid View #5330

When launching a communication from the grid view, the screen with the bulk email setting includes the New Communication block. This is the same block that is used in the New Communication flow.

When block settings are altered to change the default bulk email setting, it only impacts the New Communication flow. There doesn't appear to be a way to change the bulk email default setting that is used when launching a communication from the grid view.

Launched from grid view - defaults to Yes

Expected Behavior

At a minimum, it should be possible to update the default bulk email setting by modifying the block settings. So, once the default setting is updated, the communications wizard displays that setting by default, regardless of how the communication is launched.

It would be amazing if these two settings could be maintained separately:

  1. Default bulk email setting for New Communications
  2. Default bulk email setting for communications launched from a grid view

Generally, churches may want to default the former to Yes and the latter to No and this would make that possible.

Actual Behavior

When the default bulk email setting is modified on the New Communication block, it does not change the default bulk email setting for communications launched from a grid view (see screenshots above).

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Navigate to a grid view.
  2. Click on Communicate bubble to launch a communication.
  3. On the screen with the bulk email setting, edit block settings.
  4. Change Default as Bulk and save settings.
  5. The default bulk email setting is not reflected.
