This is the tracker issue for most of the key choices made for the frontend repository, primarily to decide best tools and strategy/tactics to achieve best results.

We have decided to go with the existing repository and introduce incremental changes into it, instead of starting from scratch. This is mostly to accommodate the release schedule and workload.
