Describe the bug

The console documentation states interactive elements "such as progress bars" will not be written to files. (Documentation link)

Progress bars are being written to files when the stdout is redirected:

> ./progress.py > output.txt
> cat output.txt
Doing stuff ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 0:00:05
