What exactly were you doing?

it crashed exactly when i clicked to put the fourth point of the brush,
i think it crashed after i clicked but before i released the left mouse button.
it happened before i had the chance to press shift to extrude (or whatever the name is) the brush
image

i can't reproduce the crash doing the same thing.
also i was zooming in and out, with "Move camera towards cursor" option enabled in preferences, to ensure correct placement of the vertexes

Btw, are you aware that you can do the same thing much easier just by holding Cmd+Shift and left dragging the face that you want to extrude? No need to use the brush tool.

But I don't really understand this report. Why did you click on a vertex if you want to extrude a face? Were you placing four vertices, then using shift + left drag to create brush?

But from the crash report, it looks as if you were holding shift when you placed the vertex?

yeah! that's it!

i placed the vertex while holding shift and the editor crashed

also, for the record, i know that i can drag the face

i'm trying the brush tool to see what are the things that i can do, wich tool or shortcut is easier or quicker, etc

Topher, this video is a demonstration of the feature sleep is talking about. Ctrl(or cmd on mac)+shift+left click drag will make a new brush. Excuse the South Park layered over the top of this video.
