Trustroots.org - very good project - back to the roots where couchsurfing.org, hospitalityclub.org, bewelcome.org started. By now it is only Warmshowers.org which boldly carries usability and simplicity without all the ego bluff of the other sites. I hope that Nordic egalitarian culture proves again.

:-D

Kudos @lantti !
I kinda prefer this spreads on its own weight now and is promoted by members rather than by us. Also helps not to get big crowds signing up just yet so we can monitor a bit how the app/server performs.

Sorry, it seemed like you didn't mind getting the word spread as you already had fb and reddit covered. In comparison I doubt BW crowd will be able to crash your servers... Anyway there are some very Trustrooty people being held hostage in BW as there was no alternative before. But sure they would have heard from other channels too

Antti, no need for "sorry", it's great you posted it. :)

@lantti, no worries man, I was just speaking in general since you were wondering why we didn't post there (and much elsewhere either). It's exactly like I said; spread it by members, and that's what you're doing. It's good it's there now.

@guaka are in OuiShare FB group?

Here's a new hospitality exchange community for hitchhikers mainly and other travellers. One of their core "Ideas" is to be "Free and open source forever". They already have over 500 members in 3 days. Made by the guys of Hitchwiki, Trashwiki and Nomadwiki.

@lantti writes:

what got my attention was not really any future prospects (which I believe are there too) etc. of the project, but simply the fact that already in it's early stages with almost nothing more than a smart phone friendly map search and contact channel the site fulfills the basic requirements of a working hospitality site. Profiles, trust metrics, discussions, groups, events, etc. are all nice to have features that I guess also TR will include at some point, but not at all a priority or even less a show-stopper.

Well said!

https://theapolitical.wordpress.com/2017/03/13/couchsurfing-choking-the-community-with-excessive-control-features-wrong-policies-alternatives-opportunities-what-can-others-do-right/

There are alternatives trustroots.org, bewelcome.org and others but they really need to push, a million mark is a steep or rather vertical climb & time does not favour as users on CS either pay willingly or others have not choice & that adds to momentum. trustroots.org as they mention have already taken a step a per their FAQ in right direction. Like I said by example is the way !

@simison shall we move/continue this and other less tech issues to https://github.com/trustroots/community/issues?

Like that it's easier to get non-techies involved.
