  • Unified Vegetable Ore Dictionary Lists.
    • All 'Root Veggies' are still 'Veggies', 'Veggies' and 'Vegetables' are equivalent (listAllrootveggies are now included in listAllveggies, and listAllveggies and listAllvegetables have been unified, including the aforementioned listAllrootveggies).

Changes:

  • Somnia's fatigue rates have been tweaked in favor of the player. The player should now drain fatigue twice as slowly, and recover it twice as fast.
  • Due to PneumaticCraft being removed in v1.0.0, smeltery fuel temperatures and metal melting points have been adjusted to help progression.
  • Seared & Scorched Bricks have had their recipes altered. Scorched Bricks (High Oven) are now technically first, by making grout and smelting that in a Kiln. Seared Bricks are made by dipping 8 bricks into a bucket of lava (similar recipes for nether seared bricks).
  • Ender Amethyst now has a casting recipe, made by pouring Meutoite over Nether Quartz.
  • Seared Stone & Molten Obsidian fluids have been made obsolete and thus are disabled. Melting down stone or obsidian blocks/items will result in a small amount of lava instead.
  • Various book recipes have been tweaked/unified.
  • Added recipe for Obsidian rods, using two obsidian ingots similar to iron tool rods.
  • Spice of Life formula has been tweaked, and will now take into account the current food's assigned food group(s), how often those food groups have been consumed recently, and how hungry the player is compared to how much the current food refills.
  • Players will now start with a copy of the achievement book and some coagulated blood, thanks to Starting Inventory.

Beta v1.3.0 Pre-release
Pre-release

Disclaimer: None of these changes are final, as this is still in Beta, and things are still going to change as I see fit. Once the pack is fully released, things should stabilize.

The "Long Awaited" Pack Update

First and foremost, this update will break Pre-Beta 1.3.0 worlds. I'm sorry to have to do this, but due to the amount of mod updates, config changes, and worldgen changes/updates, there's just simply no way an old world will be the same after the update. What does this mean to your current worlds, you ask? Nothing terrible aside from the blocks/items that have been removed due to shifting mods in and out. The world might even still be playable, but features will no longer be enabled, tool stats and crafting recipes changed around, and biomes will be altered. Please make backups of any worlds you wish to save before trying to play it on the newly updated pack. Also, due to the addition of TNT Utils, TWBB will now require Java 8. If you can't or don't want to use Java 8, feel free to disable TNT Utils, and the pack should load just fine. I apologize for the inconvenience.

  • Item Physic Lite v1.1.5

Client-Only Mod Updates

  • Better Foliage v1.0.3 -> v1.0.12
  • Damage Indicators Mod v3.2.0 -> v3.2.3

Changes

  • Almost every mod has been updated since the previous version.
  • Enviromine properties had to be re-done due to a recent update.
  • Removed several aesthetic mods, as they just didn't add to the hardcore experience, and only added unnecessary clutter.
    • This included some world generation that I found to be not only unnecessary, but also a bit jarring with UBC installed as well.
  • ATG has been included
    • This drastically changes world & terrain generation (if using the ATG generator, which I highly recommend) by adjusting how biomes are laid out in the world, as well as using a real-world equivalent of north/south poles to determine where certain biomes should generate. At roughly 5,000 blocks above and below the equator (which should be around z=0) are the poles. Any further north/south from that point will just stay frozen. Approach the equator and the biomes will get warmer and warmer until finally you reach deserts and jungles. Travelling east and west along your current z coordinate will still be the same "temperature".
    • Aside from biome layout, the world itself should be more gradual and interesting; rather than having random biomes placed anywhere BoP feels like.
  • Agricraft has been added for a better farming experience.
  • The Betweenlands mod has been added for some additional exploration and danger.
  • Flaxbeard's Steam Power has been added for some low-tier tech progression, with some risk involved.
  • PneumaticCraft has been added for some high-tier tech progression, also with some risk involved.
  • Blood Magic has been added for some very risky magical abilities
  • Metallurgy has been added to utilize their resources for a bit of progression, but mostly due to the fact that every bit of their mod is configurable as of a recent update.
  • Miscellaneous configuration polishing, including Enviromine properties, since a lot of config architecture changed since the pack's previous update.
  • Tinkers Construct tools have been completely disabled, leaving solely the smeltery and TiSteelworks' high oven to process metals. This was done to integrate Enviromine's various properties into every tool, as well as prevent TiC tools from becoming overpowered; plus I just feel they were a bit too much for the pack. The metal progression is really nice for what I want to accomplish with the pack, so I've left that in.

Almost everything in this pack has been tweaked, from recipes, to environmental properties, to ore processing. Recipes won't necessarily be more tedious, but they'll definitely be harder to make. All those big, bulky, heavy suits of armor may protect you against damage, but they'll slow you down, prevent you from carrying a camelpack at the same time, and worst of all, exaggarate the heat of the sun, causing you to potentially overheat.

Ores and other resources have had their mining levels re-balanced in order to give a lengthier progression, but nothing completely tedious. Thanks to Iguana's Tinker Tweaks, every pickaxe should now display the tool they're equivalent to in their tooltip. The "intended" progression in TWBB consists of the following:

Tool Material(s) Pickaxe Harvest Level
Wood, Mud, Cardboard 0
Stone 1
Lead, Tin 2
Copper 3
Bronze (Copper + Tin) 4
Iron 5
Steel, Steeleaf 6
Knightmetal 7
Sanguinite (Carminite + Blood Altar) 8
Adamantine 9
Desichalkos (Eximite + Meutoite) 10

In addition to the mining level adjustments made in TWBB, there has also been a significant Ore Processing change. All metals follow a more realistic melting point paradigm. Thanks to Tinkers' Construct, each and every ore now requires at least the Smeltery, if not the Tinkers' Steelworks High Oven, to be processed. To give you an idea, here's a chart of the temperatures required to melt down various ores, as well as the types of smelteries used to melt down said ores:

Ore/Resource Melting Point (*C)
Lava-Fueled Smeltery 0 - 800
Tin 230
Lead 375
Zinc 420
Aluminum 660
Crude Oil-fueled Smeltery 0 - 1000
Brass 925
Aluminum Brass 950
Bronze 950
Silver 950
Electrum 1000
Diesel-Fueled Smeltery 0 - 1250
Gold 1050
Hepatizon 1075
Copper 1080
Kerosene-Fueled Smeltery 0 - 1500
Octine 1280
Black Steel 1400
Iron 1400
Invar 1425
Nickel 1450
Steel 1500
Gasoline-Fueled Smeltery, High Oven 0 - 2000

  • NEI Plugins (Unofficial 1.7.10 Port)

Changes

  • Spice of Life: The hunger formula got a bit of an overhaul, as described here: 7a621a7, and updated here: 7a952fa. This was scrapped for now until I find a formula that doesn't just cause the food amount to tank after one use. For now, every food will just decrease gradually over the entirety of the history.
  • Re-enabled Tinker's Armory, but disabled Knapsack and Traveller's Armor (left mini hearts and drying racks).
  • Tweaked SoL food groups
  • Added Natura, but disabled all berry bushes and clouds, as well as some redundant trees.
  • Miniature Hearts now drop from the appropriate tier of Infernal Mob.

Mod Additions

  • Drowning Overhaul
  • TPPI's Modpack Tweaks

Mod Updates

  • Apple Core
  • Better Foliage
  • Bibliowoods
  • Enviromine

Mod Removals

  • Glenn's Gases

Known Issues

  • #43: Can't load more than one world in a session. Temporarily fixed with Hotfix 1.1.1

Changes

  • Lycanite's Mobs no longer all spawn in the overworld. Passive mobs still will, but hostile mobs will spawn in other dimensions. This is to help alleviate the strain on the player trying to survive those first few crucial nights, and it's not like this has made the later game any easier...
  • Removed "Hungry" mobs from Special Mobs, as they may be causing performance problems, and are in general just giant PITAs.
  • Doubled the rate at which Pam's Harvestcraft gardens spawn, to again help out those first few days of surviving.
  • Tweaked Infernal Mobs mob drops, as they were a bit much.
  • Melting down stone in the smeltery has been nerfed/tweaked. Each stone item will give 1mB of seared stone for ever shard it "costs" to make that item. Cobblestone/Stone blocks are worth 2 shards, and give 2mB of seared stone. Tool parts that cost a single shard will give 1mB, those that cost a full block will give 2, those that cost 3 blocks will give 6mB, and the heavy tools, costing 8 blocks of stone will give 16mB of seared stone. This change was made to counterbalance the easiness of gaining stone to melt down. In addition, the melting temperatures of each item have been re-balanced to reflect this change, so that no item is more efficient at giving seared stone than the others. Disabled in Hotfix v1.1.1 due to #43.
  • Massive Enviromine update! native gases, torches setting things on fire, ignitable coal, and spoil-able food are just some of the new things added in the update. Settings have been tweaked slightly to accommodate, but on the whole, they're basically the same as they were.
