Tested and confirmed in CKEditor 4.4.0 (occur since 4.3.5)
Browser: IE

  1. Open some editor sample: (I used http://ckeditor.com/apps/ckeditor/4.4.0/samples/replacebyclass.html).
  2. Clear all content from editor.
  3. Type some misspelled word.
  4. Enable SCAYT and wait until word gets underlined.
  5. Click image button on toolbar to add new image.

Actual result:
There is error in console:
SCRIPT5022: DOM Exception: INDEX_SIZE_ERR (1)
ckeditor.js, line 382 character 304
SCRIPT5007: Unable to get value of the property 'contains': object is null or undefined
form.js?t=E4DC, line 5 character 189
