What feature would you like to see?

Make .so libs in /usr/lib* install with the executable bit on Linux.

How will this feature be useful to you and others?

This is so distributions like fedora that automatically strip debug symbols for debuginfo/debugsource packages will actually strip them properly.

  • I can provide a PoC for this feature or am willing to work on it myself and submit a PR
