The patching process takes only a few moments depending on your CPU and connection speed.

This release is a minor hotfix release that fixes a regression in v2.0.2 that made Kirby TV Channel not region-free.

Changes:

  • Fixes regression that made Kirby TV Channel not region-free.
  • Auto-updater from this version forward attaches version numbers on the executable due to the executable not being able to be overwritten while being used. A separate auto-updater will be in the works soon.

Terminal Usage Guide for macOS and Linux Users:

This requires the use of your OS's Terminal! If you've never used it before, please search for how to use commands like cd, chmod, etc. so you understand how they work.

  1. Open Terminal.
  2. Navigate to the patcher file:
    Use cd /path/to/directory (replace /path/to/directory with your patcher's folder location, like Downloads if you saved the patcher executable there)
  3. Make the patcher executable:
    • macOS: chmod +x WiiLinkPatcher_macOS-x64_v202-1 (use macOS-ARM64 for M1/M2).
    • Linux: chmod +x WiiLinkPatcher_Linux-<architecture>_v202-1 (replace <architecture> with ARM64 or x64).
  4. Run the patcher:
    • macOS: ./WiiLinkPatcher_macOS-x64_v202-1 (use macOS-ARM64 for M1/M2).
    • Linux: ./WiiLinkPatcher_Linux-<architecture>_v202-1 (replace <architecture> with ARM64 or x64).
      Ensure you're in the patcher's directory when executing these commands. You can also adjust file permissions via a graphical file manager.

This release is a minor release that re-rebrands the RiiConnect24 + WiiLink Patcher back to the WiiLink Patcher, to remain consistant with branding changes. It also addresses some reported issues, and removes stuff that isn't being currently utilized by our current services.

Changes:

  • Rebranded the RiiConnect24 + WiiLink Patcher, now known again as the WiiLink Patcher
  • Downloads SNTP from Open Shop Channel for re-syncing system time to help fix possible time-related issues with Forecast Channel. (Thanks nami1yt!)
  • Removed Region Select WAD, as it's not being used in our Everybody Votes Channel service.
  • Improved removable drive (SD card / USB drive) detection, as well as preventing non-removable drives (HDD/SSD) from being detected or manually selected.
  • Improved way of checking patcher server, hopefully which will reduce or remove false-positives.

Pushing this minor update out to fix Kirby TV Channel not being set to region free, so this should fix the issue of anyone encountering the "This channel can't be used" error message when launching the channel.

Welcome to the newly rebranded RiiConnect24 + WiiLink Patcher! This patcher does everything you need to get RiiConnect24 and WiiLink installed automatically! Sit and watch :)

The patching process takes only a few moments depending on your CPU and connection speed.

This new major update rebrands the WiiLink Patcher to incorporate the RiiConnect24 brand as well as the services they provide, under the same patcher! This release doesn't, however, include extra features such as being able to download extra channels, such as Today & Tomorrow Channel, Photo Channel, Internet Channel, etc, but will be included in a later release.

NOTE: Executables will be properly renamed in the next update, they remain the same in this build in order to not break the auto-updater in previous versions.

Changelog:

  • Rebranded the WiiLink Patcher, now known as RiiConnect24 + WiiLink Patcher
  • Included remaining WiiConnect24 provided by RiiConnect24
  • News Channel no longer needs any patched IOS files, thanks to mkwcat!
  • EULA channel now included for vWii users for WiiConnect24 channels
  • Express Install setup has been shortened and simplified to require less steps
  • Swapped order of channels with RiiConnect24 channels being at the forefront
  • WiiLink (regional) channels now optional to install in Express Install setup
  • Altered color scheme of the patcher
  • New macOS-arm64 build!

Bugfixes:

  • [macOS and Linux only] SD cards and USB drives should be properly detected on the macOS versions of the patcher.
  • Redone way that files are downloaded, hopefully not timing out as much or at all.

Upcoming:

  • Extra downloadable channels will eventually be made available, such as Today & Tomorrow Channel, Photo Channel, Internet Channel, etc.
  • Localizations will be made for the RiiConnect24 + WiiLink Patcher so that it can be used with more languages! This will come in a future minor update. In the meantime, only English is supported.

    • Our WiiLink Wii Mail service has been launched! The Wii Mail functionality is now available in our lineup of services, with all games and applications that support Wii Mail fully working as they did before the shutdown. You can also send messages to your friends and talk to them from around the world.
    • The patcher bundles the WiiLink Mail Patcher homebrew app which will allow you to easily get it set up on your Wii.
  • Interface improvements for the Custom Install setup.
  • Food Channel (Deliveroo) discontinuation, removed from patcher.

Quick Update 7/20/2023: Fixed issues with Express and Custom Install stuff bugged, should work now.

Changelog:

  • Forecast Channel update:
    • Increased number of cities that can appear on the map. For example, the United States now has 894 cities.
    • Compatibility with the new vWii Priiloader, eliminating the need for ConnectMii. vWii users are advised to follow the guide to install Priiloader and the required Timestamp Patch.

    Note: If you are on Dolphin and using the built-in patch, you must update to the latest development build found here:

  • Kirby TV re-release:
    • The channel has returned! Users will need to install a new version of the channel to continue using it.
  • Custom Install setup:

Changelog:

  • Temporarily changed URLs to some files that relied on being hosted from @PablosCorner's website, as it went down. Those files will be moved to a more permanent location soon.
  • New experimental arm64 build, for those that are using Linux on arm64 architecture.
  • Implemented a fix for SD/USB storage detection erroring out on Steam Deck, Chromebooks, and Arch Linux (in general).
  • Implemented a version checker, to see if a new version of the patcher has been released (will be the case when v1.1.3 gets released).

For macOS and Linux users

You need to launch the patcher in the Terminal and give it executable permissions first. Use these commands:

  • To change permissions:
