Front page

A front page displays a logo, navigation menu on top, a content area with secondary "Your Options" -navigation on the right side of the main content area.

Visitor (not logged in user)

User that is not logged in to the site will see the following items:

  • Top navigation: Home, About, Contact, Login, Register
  • Main content: Latest events ordered by creation date descending
  • "Your options" -navigation: Browse events, Browse users

Logged in user

  • Top navigation: Home, About, Contact, Profile, Logout
  • Main content: Latest events ordered by creation date descending, Latest high fives received by the logged in user
  • "Your options" -navigation: New event, Your friends, Latest for you, Latest from you, Browse events, Browse users

New Event

An event in YouHighFiveMe is a way to categorize high fives received by other people. When an event is created, a unique ID is created as well as slug based on the title of the event. These in combination will generate a unique URL that can be promoted by the user to let other people come in directly into the event page and give high fives for the specific event.

Events can be public or unlisted. Public events are listed in different listings applicable while unlisted event can only access via a specific url.

When user received minimum of one high five for the event, this event will be seen in the Assets page as one of the referrals.

User registration

When user register, the following fields are provided in the form: Real name, email address, username, password, password verification

User login

Login page consists of input fields for username and password. When correct credentials are given, user will be forwarded to the front page.

User profile

Profile page is the place where user get's to change real name, password and personal/gravatar email address. Username cannot be changed as this is a unique identifier for the user.

Gravatar email address is not mandatory. It will be used to render user's avatars based on given email address and user has to have given email address registered in Gravatar.com service in order to work.
