Event Calendar makes plasmashell/Latte-dock crash when I add it onto them. #84
Comments
It looks like there's a bug with If you delete the I wish the plasma freedesktop notification system supported sound effects so I didn't have to manage it myself... |
There's also a https://github.com/Zren/plasma-applet-eventcalendar/search?q=QtMultimedia&unscoped_q=QtMultimedia |
I can confirm this occurs on KDE neon (in the form of Feren OS Next) too after the latest gstreamer updates there: It only appears to occur with Event Calendar being active - all other applets I've tried don't have any issues |
As for my backtrace:
|
I probably have the same, after adding widget and and logging back in I see desktop for few seconds then it crushes to black screen with cursor. Needed to remove it from plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc by hand |
I've tried to wrap it in |
I can't reproduce the bug with the version on KDE Store and Qt 5.13.1. Could it be a Qt bug that has been fixed? |
One of the updates to Qt or gstreamer probably fixed it. It's likely a Qt update. Initializing a Sound instance shouldn't of crashed the Qt "App". |
We also remove the QtMultimedia sfx that caused issues in (Issue #84). We now use notification.py for events. I've done my best to sanitize the event summary + body. I also made the
self-closing
in UpcomingEvents formatting.
