- Installing/Updating AAUnlimited.
AAUnlimited's UI is divided into three main sections. The launcher options, the AAUnlimited Maker Window, and the Poser. Through this you can enable or disable various AAUnlimited features.
- Graphics - Set various graphics settings
- AA2Unlimited - Enable/disable many AAU Features
- Scripts - Configure even more additional options.
Here you will be able to set various card-specific features. There are tabs.
- General - Make modcards, assign clothes, and make styles.
- Eye Texture Tab - Gives you the ability to set a different texture for the right eye.
- Tan - A custom tan for every girl.
- Hair - Ability to add extra hairs, with custom hair highlight for every card.
- Mesh Overrides - Replace any texture in an xx file with a loose file.
- Archive Overrides - Replace any file that's stored in a pp with some other file.
- Archive Redirects - Replace any file in one .pp with one from another .pp
- Object Overrides - Replaces a mesh inside a .xx file with one previously extracted from another .xx file. Overrides only affect the current card being made.
- Body - Custom outline colors, custom shadow colors, and bone/frame editing.
- Body Sliders - Face sliders, Ass sliders, Thighs, Breasts, everything.
- Triggers Here is where you create custom traits and make changes to the Ai of your character. If you wish to use already existing custom traits, take a look at the Modules section instead.
- Modules - Modules are bundles of triggers that work as custom character traits. They don't merely modify the game's Ai, they add to it things that were previously not possible. Modules list with the download link is here.
- Poser - Allows you to freely move the bones of a character (or characters) to make custom poses.

PPeX - A new file type called ppx that the game still reads, but that takes up 90% less storage space than the vanilla .pp files. Makes the game run faster. It's more memory efficient and stable than pp2.

H-Positions - Enables you to have as many sex positions as you can fit on your screen.

Global Overrides - They seek out texture files that are part of xx files already and replace them by filename.
If the game hangs on launcher and you did not neglect to install windowsdesktop-runtime-3.1.9-win-x64.exe, make sure Windows 11 is set to use "Windows Console Host" as the terminal application in security settings. Security settings in Windows 11 can be accessed by pressing winkey+R, and running ms-settings:developers or through the normal windows settings panel.
Try enabling the win10fix script in your launcher and try again. If that fails, reopen the scripts tab in the launcher, select win10fix and click Settings. A drop down menu will open asking you to select a d3d9 variant. Pick dxvk or dgvoodoo2 and click ok. Restart the game and try again. If you're still having issues starting the game or have low (1-2 fps) in high poly, follow these instructions.
Turn off blur in the Graphics tab of the AAU launcher, set the mipmap setting to Normal or Best and turn on anti-aliasing and set it to the highest option.
Install Visual C++ Redistributable x86. AA2MiniPPX has it included in the extra folder.
You do not need any applocale programs, as AAUnlimited comes with its own fixlocale script. To enable it, run the game normally so the AAUnimited launcher shows up, go to the scripts tab and enable the "fixlocale" script.
I did the above and I'm getting weird things in the Maker, "/u" and "/v" during dialogue in Play ...
The fixlocale script has a settings menu. To open it, click on the fixlocale script entry, and click "Settings". Set "Force jp system langid" to "Always" and click OK. Then launch the game and you'll be set. Depending on your setup you might want to check the other options - one of them is bound to work.

AAUnlimited has its own subtitle overlay. Turn it on in the scripts tab AND the settings tab.
I wanted to use the hair highlighter/sclera changer to change my default sclera/hair highlight. How do I do that with AAU?
You don't. Those scripts are deprecated. Use Global Overrides if you want to make such broad changes.
Gay sex can be activated by changing the "unlocks" script settings. To do that, run the game, go to the scripts tab in the AAU launcher, click the "unlocks" script, and click "Settings". Check the checkbox to turn on homosex.
If you want to make a futa, there's an AAU pack just for that purpose.
Load them via the AAU poser and/or grab the 3D Rooms mod. 3D Rooms replaces chairs, tables, and assorted generic backgrounds with 3D environments when you initiate an H-scene and/or enter dialogue in an area. If you use More Cumming Positions(MCP) or the Japanese version(JMCP) with this mod, don't forget to use the patch. There are two, one for unlocked and one for normal. Use only one at a time.
If you're using the CIV, MkIII, EX2 or EX-S II uncensor, you have to go into the settings tab of the AAU launcher and check the option labeled "MkIII (chinpo .bmp -> .tga texture)
If you're using the SVII uncensor or no uncensor at all, you'll need that same checkbox disabled.
AA2MiniPPX is a repack of AA2 that includes AAUnlimited, and it is highly recommended that you use it. Your game will be more stable, it will run faster, and it is much more compact, it's only 3gb and it doesn't require installation. All important mods for it are available in the ppx format and are also just drag and drop, they don't require AA2Install/Wizzard. Read more information on that here.
Manually install net desktop runtime provided in the extra folder, use winetricks to install vcrun 2015, and install alsa and openal plugins from package manager. Create a prefix with winecfg and then run WINEPREFIX=/your/aa2/prefix winetricks -q dotnetcoredesktop3 vcrun2015 dxvk. Set a shortcut or use something like lutris so it runs AA2 from that prefix.

If you're still crashing on launch even after enabling windows 10 fix, try all combinations of enabling and disabling win10fix, Type 2 Renderer, wined3d (must disable win10fix when you enable wined3d) and Software Vertex Processing. For example:
- Enable the "win10fix" script in the launcher (scripts tab). Exit out of the game and launcher, and restart. [win10fix standard, no SVP]
- If that fails, enable "Software vertex processing" (SVP) in the Graphics tab, and launch the game. [win10fix standard, SVP]
- If that fails, disable SVP. Then go into the "win10fix" script settings, and switch to "dgvoodoo2" in the "Select d3d9 variant (needs restart)" drop-down. Restart the launcher and game as above. [win10fix dgvoodoo2, no SVP]
- If that fails, enable "Software vertex processing" (SVP) and launch the game. [win10fix dgvoodoo2, SVP]
- If that fails, disable SVP, then disable the "win10fix" script and enable "wined3d", and restart the launcher and game. [wined3d, no SVP]
- If that fails, enable "Software vertex processing" (SVP) and launch the game. [wined3d, SVP]
- If none of those combinations work, you're very very unlucky. Your best chance is running AA2 in Windows 7 or 8.
