Custom outline colors, custom shadow colors, and bone/frame editing.

There are currently four types of modiciation you can make in this tab:

  • Frame/FRAME - Modify mesh frames or bones to change their scale/rotation/location in space for the card.
  • Bone/BONE - Modify mesh frames or bones to change their scale/rotation/location in space for the card.
  • Outline/SMOL - SubMesh OutLine modifications. Change the outline properties of the card.
  • Shadow/SMSH - SubMesh Shadow modifications. Change the shadow properties of the card.

There's some interplay between the sections of the tab, but here's a breakdown of the pieces:

Target Selection

Set what you would like to modify.

  • File Name - Set a value to only modify xx files with that file name. Do not include file extension.
  • Frame Name - Set a value to only modify 3D objects that have that frame or bone name.
  • Material Name - Set a value to only modify 3D objects that have that material name.
  • Apply - Apply the rule below to the selected target.

This section is where you specify what you want to modify, or where you want to limit your modifications, depending on which operation you're performing.

For FRAME and BONE modifications, the file and frame names are used to single out what you will be changing. File name is optional. Material has no effect.

For SMOL and SMSH modifications, all three targeting fields serve to limit where you are changing the shadow or outline properties. All fields are optional, and a blank field is applied universally within all other constraints.

You can only make 1 type of rule at a time. Clicking FRAME will ignore any SMOL changes you've written when you hit apply, and so on and so forth for any other combination.

Notes

In other words, three blank fields for a SMOL rule will give the card 1 custom outline color at all times.

FRAME/BONE

Similar to the Body Sliders tab but it lets you morph any bone in the character, not restricted by preset sliders.

  • Rule List - Lists all applied rules. Click and press "delete" on the keyboard to remove one.
  • Frame/Bone - The type of modification to be applied. See the hair guide here.
  • Transformation Matrix - Write in the changes to be made to the frame/bone that would result in your desired output shape.

Notes

  • The SRT matrix has Scale and Translate swapped in position when compared to the setup in SB3U.
  • The SRT matrix values are ADDED to the "starting matrix" of whatever you are editing. If you have 1.000 and want 0.875, you type in "-0.125".

SMOL/SMSH

Enables the outline/shadow of the character to be any color, as opposed to the default black, using an RGB selection.

  • Outline/Shadow - Choose between a SMOL rule or a SMSH rule. See Note below.
  • Alpha/Thick - Set the strength of the rule. "Shadow Alpha" or "Outline Thickness."
  • Submesh Color - Set the color of the rule, assuming 100% opacity.
    • R - Set Red saturation (0-255)
    • G - Set Green saturation (0-255)
    • B - Set Blue saturation (0-255)
  • Submesh Shadow Things - Additional properties of shadows that can be modified.
    • Spread - Controls the "depth" of the shadow on the character. A higher number is more immersed in the darkest part of the shadow.
    • Gradience - Increase the spread of the shadow pixels beyond the threshold set by the Spread limit. The effect increases the affected darkened area at moderate levels, and at high levels it lightens the shadow in the affected area as the pixels become too separated to be visible on the body. Higher numbers can negatively affect system performance.

Notes

  • When changing between SMOL or SMSH, you can also leave the tab and come back. SMOL and SMSH have different defaults for all of their settings, and these defaults reset to the proper numbers on entry to the tab. For convenience, these defaults and other important values are listed below.
    • Outline Thick - Default is 0.01, vanilla default is 0.001 maximum is 0.01, minimum is 0.0000.
    • Shadow Alpha Default is 0.196078, maximum is 100, minimum is 0, normal range is less than 0.5.
    • R - Shadow default is 100, Outline default is 0, maximum is 255, minimum is 0.
    • G - Shadow default is 30, Outline default is 0, maximum is 255, minimum is 0.
    • B - Shadow default is 30, Outline default is 0, maximum is 255, minimum is 0.
    • Spread - Default is 0.6, maximum is 2, minimum is 0.
    • Gradience - Default is 0.0015, maximum is 1, minimum is 0. The effect shift is around 0.025.
  • Any rule can be updated in real time for Females by changing its parameters and hitting Apply again. For Males, you may have to reload the model.
  • Existing Body Outline settings from older AAU versions are automatically converted to SMOL rules when loading the card in the Maker.
