using Manjaro Linux , I don't have a proxy to be configured,

Every install ends up with

'Installation error
Unknown internal error'

@RaedsLab Are you saying you do use a proxy? If so, you can configure the "proxy" preference to make this work - see https://github.com/adobe/brackets/wiki/How-to-Use-Brackets#preferences.

Can you try this:

  1. Debug > Show Developer Tools
  2. Go to the Console tab
  3. If there are any errors or warnings listed, please paste them here -- there should be a more specific error code in the console any time the "Unknown internal error" message is shown

Those sound like errors from extensions you have installed. I assume you installed them manually, since Extension Manager isn't working for you?

Can you try running with those extensions temporarily removed/disabled and see if Extension Manager works in that case?

@RaedsLab Did you get that when you tried debug > show developer tools from Brackets or did you type the url in the address bar?

Low pri to @peterflynn to follow up and see if we can figure out what's going on. @RaedsLab is it possible you have some kind of internal firewall/security software? The fact that you can't open the devtools URL suggests that there's something pretty restrictive on your system.

@RaedsLab If you manually open the bare URL http://localhost:9234 in Chrome, do you get the same error message?

Try disabling any firewall, network security, or antivirus software you have installed locally to see if that changes anything. (If it does, then of course you'd want to re-enable it and look for a way to set an exception just for the Brackets process).
