This is how I setup my machine. It is running Mint 15 with Cinnamon.
Before this point, there were other OS(s), which may or may not still exist.
The machine I'm writing this on dual-boots to Windows 8. (That was a pain in the butt.)
- Name your computer. I name my machines with a word/phrase printed on one of the manufacturer's stickers.
- Install Chrome
- Turn off Chrome Remembering Passwords +
- Add Duck Duck Go as a Search Engine +
- Install git +
- add ondrej's php5 repo +
- Install latest PHP 5.4 + various apache mods
- Install MySQL
- Install Komodo Edit +
- Install ThunderBird +
- Install InkScape +
- Generate/install ssh key for github (and any server(s) I'm ssh-ing to ATM) +
