For the PDF version of the ALAN Manual we still need to create a nice front cover design, and then setup the DocBook XSL template to include the cover in the final PDF document.

  • Design Cover — Create a nice front cover in PhotoShop or Inkscape.
  • Add Cover to XSL Template — the DocBook XSL template needs to be edited to allow inclusion of a cover image.
    • Check how this can be done without affecting the use of the shared XSL template repository in other project.

commented-out pending entries TBD later on (Closes #54).

Update contents of "§4.2. Words, Identifiers and Names":

 * Add "Stropping" sub-section.
 * Add `stropping` anchor.
 * Add `stropping` Index entry.
 * Revise and improve contents of this section:
    * More examples.
    * Extra admonitions.
    * Polish text.

Clean-up, polish and update README files in Alan Manual directory.

Won't Make It for Beta7 Release...

This looks like something that is going to require some work in order to implement: in order to have the PDF Cover with the Submdolue XSL template without hard-coding it into the template itself, and allowing each document to specify its cover image (or the absence thereof) will require digging into how to implement this conditionally, and via some command line set attribute to control the cover file (or the absence thereof).

Not having enough experience in DocBook/FOP configurations, I think we should postpone this task to a future improvement, and definitely not something that we might achieve for the 1st release of the Beta7 ALAN Manual edition.
