We might need an entry point for users that are coming at AutoML with uncleaned data but have not seen the DataChecks section of our user guide. It would probably be good to establish the use of DataChecks/Actions in a tutorial to increase the chances that users will have a good experience in AutoML.

Perhaps we could take an existing dataset and introduce some of the things our DataChecks can catch into them and walk through in the tutorial how to use DataChecks/Actions prior to feeding to AutoML.

  1. Create a tutorial page for something like "starting a new project". Tailor it for users with unknown/messy data. Show the simplest possible usage with the unified search method.
  2. Show the more advanced route of running DataChecks/Actions up front prior to explicit invocation of AutoMLSearch class and running of the AutoMLSearch.search() function.

I'm more than happy to do / help with this, as part of the ML Assistant project.

Yes!!! This relates to #2469 , because we'd like to start asking users to run our top-level search method which will eventually run+apply data check actions, instead of always running AutoMLSearch.search directly!

I'm not sure I'll get to it this sprint (ending in Aug 2) but if no one else has taken it on by then, I can grab this!
