export_fig caused annotations (‘textbox’) with background colors to change to the same green regardless of the color choice in the annotation function. However, the color of the text in the box is not an issue, and when there is no background color set there is no issue.
I do not believe that this is similar to the other color issues like #230 and #206 as I have tried some of those fixes.

This is only relevant for EPS/PDF (not bitmap) formats and the colors automatically revert to their original (non-green) colors in both the output file and the main figure, so I'm not sure why you see the green output.
In any case, I just added a condition that only modifies the bgcolor to green in case it is non-opaque, so hopefully this should reduce (if not eliminate) the problem, so I'm closing the issue now.
You can reopen the issue if you still see a problem, but in this case you will need to provide a reproducible code snippet that shows the problem.
