This thumbnail is available in the app since 2017. Therefore I will close this issue.

I thought it was obvious that Discord has a new icon with a different colour. So... they have a new icon with links to appropriate files on https://discord.com/brand-new/branding.

I'm sorry, it wasn't so clear to me from the issue description that they have a new icon. I guess it was probably an oversight on my side. Although I checked with the code, and it looks exactly the same. I'll have a look at it again.

I had a look at it again.
The colour used in the app is #7289da, the colour specified on the website is #7289DA. They call it "Blurple" and it's the same.

That's the side by side comparison of the old and the new icon in Android Studio. I can't really spot a difference.

That last change was on Mai 11th 2020 by me. But that was merely a resize, ensuring to limit the vector to a size of 200 x 200 dp.

When I open https://discord.com/brand-new/branding I get redirected to https://discord.com/branding. I used the logo provided there to create the screenshot from above.

Ok, I've found the blog posts describing the logo change:

And it looks like not everybody is happy with the change. I have no opinion on this. I'll wait for them to official update their brand site and their media kit: https://app.box.com/s/5puqm5ijahrrdao7yldi7fr3zah5i1am

@ziegenberg That screenshot is just the old logo twice. I don't know why https://discord.com/brand-new/branding redirects to the old branding site (browser cache?), that shouldn't happen. Also the files on Box won't be updated because that is the old media kit. All the files and link to the new media kit are on https://discord.com/brand-new/branding.

By the way, the Discord logo was updated at SuperTinyIcons in May.

So once PR 398 is merged, updates like these might come easier automatically, since SuperTinyIcons is shared between projects and once somebody adds or updates something, everyone might profit from it.

And of course icons of of SuperTinyIcons are usually much smaller in their size.
