the game singing.

modulating sound in response to (in accord with?) movements, like a character's movements. pretty neat, feels and sounds cool. it'd be nice to design sound s/t players can compose around one another. each hearing their own private and distinct symphony and following its grain.

parts

if each character plays some part in the composition, here are some sorts of parts maybe worth exploring:

  • a chord tone line (in progression)
  • a melody (in key)
  • a matching harmony
  • a duet melody
  • a bunch of random notes (on key)
  • a bunch of random notes (accidentals)
  • a single note repeated
  • a strictly ascending run
  • a strictly descending run
  • a-rpeggios
  • a continuous tone (or sequence of)
  • an echo
  • an effect or filter for other sounds
  • a chord progression
  • a walking bass line
  • a folksy chorded bass line
  • a sequence of interval pairs (double stops)
  • a percussion
  • a plucking unvoiced strings
  • a hitting a stick on something
  • a sung line
  • a sung line (lyrics)
  • a spoken word
  • a continuous drone (sunn, sleep, modulate volume instead of tone)
  • a key, a thing's presence or steps change key?
