A somewhat related discussion.

A user said the following in a private conversation after being prompted: Also, if you were a developer of Nyxt (beyond just a user) what would you like to build for yourself?

I would love a wallet Monero. Similarly an interface to download and
search LBRY without their client.

Monero and GNUTaler seem to share similarities (and differences). But I know very little about this topic.

According to the user:

For those fringe things, Monero is quite different from Taler. Taler,
from what I understand of it, holds currency anonymously that users get
from the bank. Then the merchant accepts it. Monero is a blockchain like
Bitcoin, but one which obfuscates transactions. It's a fairly small
niche among crypto users, though, and that's why I put it in the list of
things that likely wouldn't be worth developing for (but which I would
have a use for). However, both funcions could be implemented the same if
Nyxt uses an external daemon to do the economic processing, has a custom
protocol to pass an address to it that it picks up from a website or a
QR-code on a website. This way a specialized program exists, but Nyxt
could interact with the addresses online freely.

There seems to be an open Ph.D. position to help remove Taler's dependency on Node/JS and work toward making it more compact and embedable..
