Would be nice to have native support so you can drop in the LESS version and get a compiled version on build.

a hack would be to just wrap their service here http://getbootstrap.com/customize/ :)

Something like that would be preferable. I think, probably something in awepress. The LESS gem requires therubyracer or therubyrhino and racer is just horrible, it changes often, can't build v8 other times, doesn't always work cross platform, etc. —

Also not eager on the v8 dependency. Also not eager to introduce a web service dependency though.

But there is also an official SASS version - maybe just use that instead?

Yeah, the bootstrap-sass gem, which we use stays current. —
