overclockSPD

Fast and easy ways to read and write data to RAM SPD. *will also include a gui for overclocking ram

These are scripts that provide linux users with tools to easily modify data (timings, voltages, configuration...) from multiple sticks of RAM. Other tools currently out there such as Taiphoon Burner, TB2BIN, RWEVERYTHING... only run on Windows. (which is unfortunate)

It can also convert .emp files (created by Thaiphoon Burner) into .xmp files.

Directly inspired by the man who created the amazing tb2bin tool: Valuxin

Shoutout to xx (or \x) from r/tp discord for helping me out. He is the man when it comes to RAM OC

Background info on RAMOC and TB2BIN

Install

You need to have i2c_dev, i2c_i801 and eeprom modules loaded. Also make sure the i2c-tools package is installed.
sudo pacman -S i2c-tools
sudo modprobe i2c_i801
sudo modprobe i2c_dev

Usually i2c_i801 is loaded by default on Arch. It is included here incase it isn't for your distro.

Usage

Usage: sudo ./readspd.sh [-x]xmp [-b busaddr] [-d dimaddr <0x##>] # only reads 1 target at a time
       sudo ./writespd.sh [-x]xmponly [-b busaddr#] [-d dimaddr <0x##>] [FILE] # only writes 1 target at a time
       sudo python readspd.py -x -b <busaddr> -d <dimmaddr> # only reads 1 target at a time
       sudo python writespd.py -x -b <busaddr> -d <dimmaddr> -f <filepath> # only writes 1 target at a time

Results will be saved in the current working directory. Check if there is write access to it otherwise the scripts will fail.

Examples

./readspd.sh -b 9 -d 0x50
./writespd.sh -b 9 -d 0x50 ./ocdumpprofile.spd
python readspd.py -b 9 -d 0x50
python writespd.py -b 9 -d 0x50 -f ./ocdumpprofile.spd

OUTPUT:

$ ls
