I compiled the code and created some release files. Tried the Gear one by itself but it didn't create much of a gear by default. What's the best way to compile and install these as a group or individually? I'm currently running SpaceClaim 2016.1 and just starting to consider building a few plugins. And I was pleasantly surprised to find yours already on github!

Hello,
I'm user SpaceClaim 2016 also.
"Gear" and the other "addins" works very well for me.
What is your problem?

Hello,
I'm new to the group and a newbie to coding, and I would appreciate some help on setting / installing the files.
I'm also using SpaceClaim 2016
I have previously downloaded and installed Visual Studio 2015 and then with the help of the Building Sample Add_Ins.pdf file I compiled the Sample C#v15 Add_In located in the the SpaceClaim.Api.V15 folder.

I have downloaded the SpaceClaim-AddIns-master zip file and attempted to build the Gear project. Unfortunately I got a lot of errors.
Appreciate if someone can give be some guidance - I must be doing something wrong!

Hi,
See the link en download the files Zip joined.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/srni1empog55owf/Spaceclaim%20Addins.zip?dl=0
It's "Addins" for Spaceclaim compiled, for easy install.
Copy and Paste or extract files "Addins" in Hard Drive C:/ProgramData/Spaceclaim
Launch Spaceclaim.
Enjoy.

Hi Nicolas,
Many thanks for you reply. I followed your instructions but have run into some error messages when I run Gear.
I have sent you a PM so that I could include a screen snapshot of the errors. I hope that is okay.
Regards,
David

Hi Nicolas,

Thanks for getting back to me, and providing the download.

I'm a mechanical engineer and the gear program looks very interesting and
so that is the one I have focused on to date.

Unfortunately I seem to have some errors when I attempt for create a gear
set - see below.
As you can see I have no check boxes ticked so presume this is a straight
cut gear default. However, I get the same errors when I try "Helical" with
any helix angle including zero.

On the bright side Bevel and Hypoid seems to be functioning okay.

Screw appears to work between angles of around 60 - 90 deg. Outside this I
appear to get the same error message.

Appreciate any help as the Gear module would be good to have working.

Regards,
David

Hi Nicolas,
Wow that's great - many thanks. It all seems to work now.

It's off topic but I was looking for a Add-In for fasteners say similar to "Standard Hole" where you can pick screw family (say hex head, cap screw etc), length, head etc from a pick list.

David

Hi Nicolas,
Thanks for the links.
"Toolbox" looks excellent but difficult to justify the outlay.
Maybe someone will write a more simple home grown version without the smarts.
