BEMOSS™ v3.5

BEMOSS™ v3.5 was released in June 2017. It is developed on VOLTTRON v3.5. Please refer to the table below that compares BEMOSS™ v3.5, v2.0 and v1.2.

List of Supported Hardware

This "BEMOSS™ v3.5" release supports selected HVAC, lighting and plug load controllers, as shown in the able below:

The description of each device can be found below.

The following HVAC load controllers are supported by BEMOSS™ 3.5:.

RadioThermostat with USNAP Wi-Fi (CT30/CT50): CT30/CT50 is a Wi-Fi enabled thermostat that can be accessed from anywhere with an Internet connection. CT30/CT50 offers users several stages of heating and cooling, and seven-day programming. CT30/CT50 provides an HTTP API that enables client programs to query the thermostat state, and manage/control the thermostat operation.

Prolon M1000/2000 RTU Rooftop Controller: The M1000/2000 rooftop controller is designed to control a central rooftop unit or any other HVAC air treatment equipment. The M1000 Rooftop controller receives readings from five different temperature sensors: outside air, return air, supply air, mixed air and zone air. In addition to the temperature sensors, it also has inputs for the static pressure, CO2 levels and proof of fan. It operates on a configurable schedule using an internal real time clock.

Prolon PL-VC1000/2000 VAV Controller: The PL-VC1000/2000 series Prolon zone controllers use a microprocessor with proportional and integral action that allows for a precise set-up of the variable air volume box. The various programming options allow a person to modify the unoccupied mode setpoints, the deadbands, the maximum and minimum setpoints for each zone, as well as the minimum damper position in ventilation mode and in heating mode for each zone.

The following lighting load controllers are supported by BEMOSS™ 3.5:

WeMo light switch: The WeMo light switch is Wi-Fi enabled and allows to turn room lights on and off from anywhere. It can replace a standard light switch in a home and can be controlled remotely with a smartphone or tablet.

Philips Hue: Philips hue is a wireless lighting system. It enables to create and control light using a smartphone or tablet. The Hue set includes bulbs and a bridge to plug into a Wi-Fi router. The hue wireless bridge is required for controlling the hue lighting system up to 50 bulbs. Philips hue uses the open ZigBee light link standard to communicate between the bridge and bulbs.

Wattstopper LMRC-212 Digital On/Off/0-10 Volt Dimming Room Controller: LMRC-212 has two relays and two 0-10 volt dimming outputs, as well as a high-efficiency switching power supply. It can control two lighting load circuits that connect up to 50 ballasts each. It operates on one 120 or 277V/20A, or 347V/15A.

The following plug load controllers are supported by BEMOSS™ 3.5:

WeMo smart plug: WeMo smart plug is a Wi-Fi enabled device that allows wireless on/off control of home appliances. It offers to set schedules for home appliances and turn devices on and off remotely.

WeMo Insight Switch: Similar to the WeMo smart plug, WeMo insight switch is a Wi-Fi enabled device that allows wireless on/off control of connected appliance and can measure the real time power consumption.

Wattstopper LMPL-201 plug load room controllers: LMPL-201 has one 20A relay for on/off control of connected outlets, and a high-efficiency switching power supply. LMPL-201 operates on 120V. The plug load controllers then switch controlled outlets on and off in response to input from any communicating occupancy sensors.

The ambient light sensor below is supported by BEMOSS™ 3.5 to enable the illuminance based control feature:

Wattstopper LMLS-400 digital photosensor: LMLS-300 is a closed loop photosensor that measures the ambient light level in order to automatically switch or dim one zone of lighting. The LMLS-400 has a photodiode with an extended range of 1-10,000 footcandles (fc), and photopic correction to mimic the human eye, for precise measurement of visible light.
